“Voltaroar! I choose you!” commanded the trainer as he furiously whipped a small glowing orb into the center of the coliseum. Within a moment, a fearsome electrified lion came roaring into existence. It’s majestic white mane hummed with high voltage electricity.

Immediately, another gleaming ball was clumsily tossed into the center of the stadium. Out of it sprang a timid looking mouse. It floated gingerly in the air with its two large leafy wings. And it nervously nibbled on the small leaf that grew on the tip of its vine-like tail.

“Hoyachu! Quick-attack!” shouted the red-headed girl as she commanded her small leafy mouse to charge towards the thunderous behemoth.

As this little creature cautiously leapt forward and weaved its frail little body between the columns of oncoming electricity, the mouse heard snippets of familiar criticism from its harsh and hateful trainer.

“Hoyachu! Why are you so slow? Can’t your stupid little wings flap any faster than that? I hate that you are so weak!”

After a grueling 10 minutes of intense battling, the fatigued little mouse unwittingly managed to sneak up behind the fearsome lion. As soon as the electrified beast turned its vicious head around, the leafy mouse sprayed a potent cloud of sleep powder into its startled face. As the lion collapsed to the ground in a thunderous heap, the red-headed girl shouted “Hoyachu! Finish him off with your Leaf Guillotine attack!”

Immediately, the little mouse started to slam its leafing tail onto the ground. Each time it did so, the razor sharp leaf grew exponentially larger and larger. And in the very final moment, the little mouse summersaulted into the air and released the spinning green blade.

But it did not land on the exposed neck of the pacified beast. Instead it slammed defiantly into the ground; landing merely a few millimeters away from its master’s right foot. After snarling at its petrified trainer, the little leafy mouse bolted off the field; thus forfeiting the match.

Unfortunately, the things in our lives that we most bitterly reject, constantly criticize and refuse to accept, end up being the very things that we have the least control and influence over.
